Southern Sailing LLC offers charter sailing in Galveston and Trinity Bays leaving out of Clear Lake Shores, a 10-minute drive from NASA-Johnson Space Center and located between Galveston and Houston. Captain Bill and First Mate Kay provide 4 hour cruises sharing the excitement and adventure of sailing with you as we travel around the Bay. Captain Bill, a retired NASA Engineer, has a US Coast Guard OUPV License with over 20 years of sailing experience and along with First Mate Kay, provides a safe cruise around Galveston and Trinity Bays offering views of the area's wildlife and scenery. Your safety is our top concern during our sail, and we comply with all applicable USCG requirements for the operation of a commercial passenger craft. We will explore the Bay waters while viewing the Kemah Boardwalk, the shores of Seabrook, Bacliff, Clear Lake, and San Leon, and the Houston Ship Channel. Our boat, Renegade, is a 34 ft Catalina and comfortably accommodates 4 of you in the cockpit, on deck, or in the cabin during our exploration of Galveston and Trinity Bays. Having a memorable, exciting, and safe sailing experience that you can talk about and share with family and friends for years is our goal. Make a reservation and place a deposit according to the differing charter options and if the date is confirmed, we will accept the deposit.
Fireworks cruises offer an opportunity to view the Kemah Boardwalk fireworks spectacle from the Bay. The Fireworks Cruise leaves the dock at 6:30 P.M., and we sail for a couple of hours before anchoring to watch the show. The shows begin at approximately 9:30 PM on Friday's in June and July. We will provide water, tea, and soft drinks along with light snacks. You are welcome to bring your own favorite beverages along with food at your discretion. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and white soled or non-marring black soled shoes. No heels allowed.
The Captain will have final determination of weather safety and will cancel the cruise if there is any concern about weather or equipment conditions. You will be refunded your fee if a cruise cannot be rescheduled within 30-days of the planned cruise. The decision to cancel will be made by the Captain as soon as possible prior to the scheduled cruise.
